I love ..we love..

We Love Space 24/09/14

When in Ibiza i like to check out new parties but one that has stood the test of time and always delivers top drawer D.J's and producer's to their line-up's is held on a Sunday in Space. They call it We Love..

Entering the newly titled Stripped ( Sunset Terrace ) a small gathering of early revelers are sipping beers, some already taken to the dance floor, others sat at the many bars preserving their energy for the long night ahead. Special guests warm us in to the flow: Spanish D.J Veteran: David Moreno, one of Visionquest's deep-house troupe : Shaun Reeves and London's Matt Tolfrey take turn's throwing down quality House/Tech and deep- house. I spot We Love promoter and one of the original Cream Team Darren Hughes and get a picture with him.

Resident Jem Haynes take's over for the remainder of the night building up the crowd, the floor is very busy by now. He drop's tune after tune but it's The Man With A Red Face that get's the first cheer followed by new summer anthem Oliver S and Jimi Jules - Pushing On.

Everyone is dancing along with the podium dancers, also the tall man in shades, heels and large hat with we love emblazoned across it. To close his uplifting set we get Octave One ft Ann Saunderson-  Blackwater, everyone in the know is singing along - including me.

By this time all the remaining rooms are open. Space is like 5 different club's in one with diverse music policies in every room, upstairs at the Premier Etage : DJ Callum provides chilled out house beats to the crowd who are relaxing in the nighttime air.

Back to the Sunset Terrace for After Dark and Mr Doris is dropping a Drum N Bass and Hip/Hop set: Snopp Dog - Drop it like it's hot! It still is, especially this D n B remix. Dawn Penn's - No, No, No follows. Shapes are being thrown out by those seeking a alternative sound to the House beats in other rooms.

The smaller and more chilled out El Salon has been taken over by Lucky Life Music. I don't stay long as i want to catch Hot Since 82 on the terrace. The place is already rammed. The rising Yorkshire D.J / Producer is firmly fixed in the groove from the off, no showmanship just a quality groove laden set of uplifting Tech and Deep House. Denite - I love to talk a highlight and his Bigger than Prince tune with Green Velvet.  Sasha appears behind him, hugs all around and respect is given .

Unfortunately Danny Tenaglia is not well so had to cancel, which was a shame as i have never seen him, Technasia is drafted in to close the Terrace but never caught his set.

In the Discoteca; Julio Bashmore is warming up nicely for the legend that is Sasha with his last night on earth ( Label ) party but a messy change over, a few boo's and cheer's from the busy main room but Sasha get's back on track with Caribou - Can't do without you.

The place erupts, a massive tune. He takes us through a epic- atmospheric journey before i hear the chunky- techno beats of classic Timo Mass - Ubik. A pleasure to experience this. I move closer in to the audience on the heaving dance floor.

Men and women are hugging, smiles all around, old skool followers have eyes closed, locked in the moment.  A lad next to me is saying " i love this tune, i love this tune!" after every cut is dropped by our D.J hero. The set builds to a euphoric closer with a uplifting - progressive trance piece, lasers above our heads, arms aloft, this is what it's all about. We have literally partied like it's the Last Night On Earth.
